Daniel and Nathan
We're looking to adopt a baby
Hello, we are Nathan and Dan. We would love to tell you more about ourselves and our hopes to grow our family through adoption.
We met in New York City in 2009 through an online dating site. We had both already collected some bad first date stories, but when we met each other, we both felt this could be something different. We met for drinks and were getting along well, so we decided to extend the date to catch a movie (a corny action movie with John Cusack).
Although we were both on our first jobs out of graduate school, and our schedules were hectic, we found ourselves making more and more time for one another. We met each other's friends and families, started spending holidays together, and came to rely on each other more and more. When Nathan moved to DC for a dream job, our relationship became long-distance for two years. We traveled every weekend by bus to see each other until Dan found a stable job in DC. We've lived together in the area ever since.
As we built our lives in DC, we started thinking about children. We took a course for LGBT families considering children, did our own research, and decided adoption was best for our family. We feel very strongly about sharing our love and support with a child. We really appreciate you taking the time to hear our story as we are building our family.
